On August 4th, 2007, a ceremony was held to unveil the Virginia Historic Highway Marker at the mill.
The Marker was donated by the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution(VASSAR) and paid for by
the Society's Knight-Patty Trust Fund.
The event was attended by over 100 people including Zirkle descendants, County Supervisors, representatives
of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and interested historic preservationists. Honored guests at
the ceremony were the President General of the Sons of the American Revolution Bruce Wilcox and his wife Teresa.
Additional color was provided for the event by the VASSAR Color Guard.
Presiding at the event was Robert Andrews, co-owner of the mill, member of the Sons of the American Revolution and
Zirkle Family descendant. The marker dedication was performed by VASSAR Vice-President Art Batten. The event was
followed by a reception and tours of the mill.
